Liam Herne

Liam Herne- Brief Background Liam Herne is a performance based sculptor. He usually presents his work in the mediums of video, photography and performance. He was born in Watford, Hertfordshire and has lived there most of his life. He recently finished a Fine Art Degree at the University of Hertfordshire. Whilst doing his degree he took part in an exchange scheme and studied in Poznan, Poland for three and a half months. He has performed and has had work shown in various locations such as Brighton, Hertfordshire, Northern Ireland and Poland. Previous performances have seen him trying to grow in height and being wrapped in cling-film to various objects. In his video’s Herne tries to create moving images that convey a feeling or a state of being. In his work he presents opposing forces such as birth/death and movement/stillness. He hopes that these opposing forces help to create tension and uneasiness in the viewer.
